“Back to the 90s, with the era’s coolest kid in Bangkok Tata Young”
As soon as I received the news, I called my girlfriends and our Friday night was set at the Vogue Lounge‘s 90s theme party. My inner goddess knows that Tata Young is gonna be there, but what I didn’t know was that we were gonna show up in matching outfits with plaids and ripped jeans… And there, I was sharing a fashion moment with the coolest girl from the 90s Bangkok…
For you international readers, Tata Young is a super famous Thai-American singer who rose to stardom in 1990s. I grew up singing her songs, both in Thai and English. I have always admired her audacious confidence. I have already seen her in Bangkok before, but this is the first time that I got a chance to take pictures with her. This made my day! You may read more about her here.
I opt for a slightly grungy look from the 90s, realized by the plaid shirt, ripped jeans, and tank top. (Courtesy from my sister’s closet. Thank you Mama for giving me a sister). Then, my girlfriend showed up with such a nice pair of round sunglasses, so I borrowed that too.
Since we are going to the Vogue Lounge, I didn’t want to go grunge all the way. So, I injected some chic elements with the pair of pointy black high heels and my Bally clutch with straps. Therefore, I can match my elegant sister from another mother Nalina.
Mingling with old and new friends is my favorite kinda night out.
